Inspired by the martyrs of the Civil Rights Movement, this wall encourages people to make a commitment to work for equality, justice and human rights in their day-to-day lives. Visitors have the opportunity to add their names to the wall by taking the pledge.

The Civil Rights Memorial is located across from the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama, a city laden with civil rights history. The memorial honors the achievements and memory of those that participated in the Civil Rights Movement, which culminated in the Selma-to-Montgomery March in 1965.
